Note re: 'Gadigal slip'. This is made from clay that was excavated by City of Sydney Council during the footpath upgrades in Surry Hills. It was situated at 300 Crown Street and on its way to landfill before I intercepted . It contains particles of bitumen and building materials that are too small to be removed, however they burst out of the glaze when fired - this creates the effect on the large yellow sphere inside this piece.
