Biography

Nuha Saad is a Sydney-based artist working across sculpture, installation, and public art. Saad holds a Master of Visual Arts (Research) from Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney, a Graduate Diploma in Education, University of Sydney, and a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the City Art Institute (now UNSW Art & Design).

Saad has exhibited widely throughout Australia and received awards including an Australia Council New Work Grant, NSW Ministry of the Arts Studio Residency, and the Pat Corrigan Artist Grant.

 

Her work has been shortlisted for numerous national art prizes including most recently the Ravenswood Women’s Art Prize (2026, 2023), OMNIA Prize (2026, 2023), Maquette Sculpture Award McClelland Gallery (2025), Wollongong Art Prize (2025), Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize (2025, 2024, 2022), Deakin University Small Sculpture Award (2024, 2022, 2019, 2018), Fishers Ghost Prize (2024), and the Beechworth Contemporary Art Award (2022).

 

Recent exhibitions and projects include Future Universe (Velvet Lobster, NSW), Lovely Thunder (PACC Cessnock, NSW), Colour in Form (James Makin Gallery, VIC) and Women in Abstraction (ANZ Gallery, VIC). Saad is currently undertaking a major public art commission for Strathfield Council as part of the Parramatta Road Urban Amenity Improvement Program.

 

Saad's work is held in public and corporate collections including ARTBANK, ANZ Bank, Australian Catholic University, Sydney Town Hall Collection, Charter Hall, City of Sydney, Randwick City Council, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, as well as private collections in Australia and the United States.
