CBD Gallery is a multi-functional art space in the bustling heart of Sydney’s central business district (CBD). It serves as an artistic hub for the central business community as well as global collectors and offers a diverse range of exhibitions, art events, workshops, and therapeutic art healing activities.
Located at 72 Erskine Street, Sydney, this unique space occupies a heritage building established in 1885. Four levels of this building operated as an art gallery 40 years ago, and then became a musical cultural centre 20 years ago. Now it’s time to continue the art legacy into future decades. The ground and first levels are the main exhibition space. There is a peaceful painting studio on the lower ground floor and an executive room and printmaking studio located at the second floor.
The CBD Gallery is more than just an art gallery. It has been designed to adapt to various events, exhibitions, art therapy, sound healing, printmaking and painting workshops, providing a dynamic and ever-evolving atmosphere. Among these workshops are painting classes at lower ground level and printmaking workshops on the top floor, led by experienced local artists. These classes not only offer participants the opportunity to learn new techniques and expand their artistic knowledge but also act as a catalyst for personal growth and self-expression.
As a new contemporary art gallery, CBD Gallery provides a versatile exhibiting experience for both emerging and internationally established artists, with a particular focus on emerging and mid-career artists. There are many match points in an artist’s career, and CBD recognises that a small support at an early stage may create a miracle in art history. CBD Gallery will endeavour to boost the artists careers with the assistance of a professional team. CBD Gallery shares a great insight into visual art and offers valuable consultation advice to clients and art collectors.
The CBD Gallery provides a platform for established and emerging artists to enter into a dialogue, share experiences, inspirations, and artistic journeys. Through its program of artist talks, the gallery encourages open discussions and fosters a collaborative atmosphere in which artists and other interested participants can learn from one another. These discussions also provide attendees with a deeper understanding of the creative process, bridging the gap between the artist and the audience.
Make each day count artistically.
